My Quest for the perfect cuppa - Teapigs edition

If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you’ll know I started a series at the beginning of the year looking for the best cup of hot chocolate you could make at home. I then went on to look for the perfect cup of tea and have so far reviewed teas from Tick Tock, Dragonfly, Drink Me, Tetley, Red Bush, Whittards and Clipper. As the days have been getting slightly colder now, I’ve started enjoying lots of yummy cups of tea and I’m back with my next set of reviews.

Today’s brand that I’m going to talk to you about is Teapigs. I bought myself these samples back before the summer and then didn’t really fancy hot drinks when the weather was warm, so they’ve been sat there waiting for me to try them for a few months now. But finally I’ve got round to it and had great fun trying them and making notes in my ‘Tea Tasting Table.’

I’d heard great things about this brand, so had high expectations as I went into my tea testing. I must admit I’ve never tried the brand before, mainly because it’s a bit more expensive than your standard teabag usually is and it’s always put me off. But I’m so glad I’ve had the opportunity to try them, as they really have lived up to expectations. Here’s what I thought of them individually.

Jasmine Pearls

A delicate and calming brew, perfect for relaxing.

Popcorn

This was so tasty and smelt (and tasted) exactly like popcorn. So much fun!

Everyday Brew

This made a full and warming cup of tea and I could see why it is more expensive than its competitors.

Peppermint leaves

A lovely fresh scent and taste. A great option for calming a dodgy stomach

Rooibos Crème Caramel

A very warming and full taste. Perfect for the colder days

Lemon and Ginger

Zingy and citrusy. Especially good for if you’ve got a cold or are under the weather

Chai Tea

This had a warming, nice flavour. Very comforting.

Chocolate flake

I was really excited to try this one. It was very yummy and had a hint of chocolatey sweetness

Super fruit

Very fruity and had a good fruity taste, which is unusual as a lot of fruit teas can be quite wishy-washy

Camomile Flowers

A comforting cup of tea with a clean and fresh quality

Silver Tips White Tea

This was a very delicate blend with a clean, crisp taste

Pure Lemongrass

This had a soothing quality to it, with a fresh crisp zing

I absolutely fell in love with the gorgeous mini boxes of the selection of teas I ordered. They would make cute favours at a party or wedding and are a great way to try a huge variety of flavours. Now that I’ve experienced how delicious and good quality the Teapigs teas are, I will definitely be buying them as a treat to myself again.
