In my life this week…
Starbucks
So, as I mentioned last
week, this week I started college. It has been a massive shock to the system
but I’ve met some really lovely people who I’m hoping will help me get through
the course! At the college there is a little Starbucks in the library, which
has been a total Godsend on days when I’m in for a little bit longer. There’s
nothing better than stopping for a study break with a frappacino or a soya hot
chocolate. OK, the only thing that would make it better was if it was a Costa,
but I’m actually growing to like Starbucks a bit more than I used to.
Sleep
This is something I have
been desperately in need of this week. I’ve been going to bed a lot earlier, as
I’ve been having to get up early, but I’ve still been exhausted every day. My
health problems don’t really help matters, but especially towards the end of
the week I found myself nodding off in lessons, which was highly embarrassing,
especially when my lecturer spotted me and asked if I needed some fresh air! I
seem to have spent my week going to college and then coming home and crashing
out on the sofa for a few hours, which is making keeping up with work very
difficult. Ideally I’d like to get work done on the day it’s set, but so far
this week I’ve fallen asleep and then it’s been too late to start working, so
it’s all been left to the weekend. I’m going to have to get into a better
routine, so that I can fit things like blogging in at the weekend, rather than
catching up on college work. I think it’s going to take me a while to get my
body into some sort of manageable routine, but I’ve been getting pretty
stressed this week, convincing myself I can’t cope with it.

Make-up
I’m afraid all three of my
points this week seem to be related to college, but it has taken up the
majority of my week! Something I’m really enjoying about college is having an
excuse to make myself look nice again. While I’ve been stuck at home a lot of
the time I haven’t really bothered with the way I look and would happily pop on
some trackies and an oversized jumper because I knew I wouldn’t see anyone. But
going out every day has given me an opportunity to pop on some make-up and make
a bit more of an effort with my clothes again. It’s nice giving myself a bit of
time in the morning when I can just enjoy putting my make-up on – it seems to
relax me so I go out of the door feeling ready to face a day. I’m not saying I
need to wear make-up to be able to go out and face people, but I think it does
help me feel a bit better about myself and gives me more confidence to be in
new situations.
What has grabbed your attention this
week? I love hearing about people’s new discoveries and you may end up sharing
something that makes it onto my list next week!
We had a Costa at my old college and the student discount was amazing! Still prefer Starbucks though haha x

Oo I'm jealous of you having a Costa - although saying that I think I'd spend even more if it was a Costa! xx
