In my life this week…
Crafting with friends
This week I had a lovely
visit from a couple of friends, one of whom I’d met before and the other I met
through a friend and we’ve been texting for a few months. It was so lovely to
see someone who isn’t a medical professional and to actually feel like a normal
young woman for a while! We spent our afternoon celebrating my friend’s 21st
with sparklers and cake, and then doing some arts and crafts on the lounge
floor. We all do scrapbooking, so brought a load of stuff and laid it all out.
As you can see, for three people we managed to take over the whole lounge and
make quite a mess, but I like to think of it as a creative mess! I love doing
scrapbooking, and doing it with friends has given me so much inspiration.
Daisies
Hasn’t the weather this
week been beautiful? Although a little too hot for me at some points, it’s been
lovely being able to relax out in the garden and feel the grass under my feet
and sunshine on my face. It makes such a difference being able to sit in the
sunshine for a bit and really helps to lift my mood. One day this week I
decided to head out into the garden and pick myself some pretty daisies. I love
them – they remind me of my childhood; sitting on the school field with a load
of friends making daisy chains and wrapping them round our wrists before
heading back inside for lessons. I’ve actually done a vlog tour of my garden,
which I’ll be uploading here very soon, so keep your eyes peeled!
Art projects
I used to do a lot of art,
and really enjoyed the subject when I was at school because there was no wrong
or right, and I could express myself in a way that was right for me. Since
leaving school I’ve not had much opportunity to be creative, and I’ve missed it
more than anything. But seeing my friends this week inspired me to get back
into my drawing and colouring. One of the girls, Sophie, does this amazing art
journal; doing a page each and every day, and it looks amazing. You can find
her blog here.
Although I don’t think I’m up to doing that amount of art, I’ve joined a couple
of weekly art projects related to an eating disorder recovery group, and have
also decided to get back into drawing and perhaps try and sell some cards.
What has grabbed your attention this
week? I love hearing about people’s new discoveries and you may end up sharing
something that makes it onto my list next week!
The weather has been absolutely gorgeous, but I'm the same - It's a little too hot for me too! xxx

Thank you Faye, it was lovely to get together and do crafts as I don't often get the time to do them when I'm on my own :) xx
