A couple of weekends ago a
close friend of mine made her vows to her childhood sweetheart. I’d been
planning for the day for months and was so excited, but since I was ill and
missed her hen do I was feeling a bit glum. I was absolutely determined I would
not miss the ceremony, so I wanted to find something to wear that felt
comfortable and didn’t take too much effort to get in to, but still looked
suitable for a Spring wedding.
The morning of the special
day arrived and the weather couldn’t have been any more perfect. There were
blue skies and gorgeous sunshine, with a gentle breeze blowing through the
blossom trees. Although the sun was beaming, it still felt a bit chilly, so I
wanted to pick an outfit that would keep the chill off but not look like I was
dressed for the middle of Winter. In the January sales I had been browsing on
Joules and found a beautiful long-sleeved floral dress, which I quickly fell in love
with. It was the perfect choice to wear to the wedding and I got some lovely
compliments from friends I saw at the Church.
Dress – Joules.
Silver heart necklace – Next.
Ring – Accessorize.
Ballet pumps – Primark.
Silver bag – Unknown as it’s so old!
I apologise for the slightly strange facial expression - it was rather sunny!
Do you have any weddings coming up
this Spring? What would be your perfect outfit?
Great post! I have a friends wedding in a couple of weeks :) I also missed her hen weekend due to M.E. so even more determined to get to the wedding! Not got a dress yet, also have a back up from my wardrobe if I can't get to the shops in time. Planning a shopping trip for next week though, inspiration is appreciated!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sarah! I really hope you're able to get to your friend's wedding - I managed to just stay for the vows, which are usually pretty near the beginning, so even if you can just manage that at least you'll have seen the most important bit! You'll have to let me know what you decide to wear in the end. There are so many gorgeous dresses out there at the moment. I'm having to restrain myself from buying them all!
