The TMI Tag

A couple of weeks ago, I was catching up on my blog reading and came across the TMI Tag on the lovely Chloe's blog. She tagged all her readers to complete this tag, so I thought why not?! I really enjoy reading these tag posts, as I think it helps you get to know the blogger a bit better, so I really hope you enjoy reading mine!

1. What are you wearing?
Nothing too exciting I’m afraid. Since I’ve been ill this time round, I’ve pretty much lived in comfy, soft clothes, as they’re the only things that feel comfortable. Today I’m wearing a pair of Black River Island jeggings, a pink vest top from Topshop, a pink zip-up hooded jacket from Abercrombie and Fitch and my trusty bedroom boots from Accessorize.

2. Have you ever been in love?
To be honest I’m not quite sure. At times I have definitely felt like I was in love, but looking back now I’d say it was probably lust. I’m still looking for that right man to sweep me off my feet!

3. Have you ever had a terrible break up?
I’ve had a couple of break-ups that have really thrown me and taken me a long time to get over, but I wouldn’t say they were terrible, just normal break-ups.

4. How tall are you?
I seem to grow and shrink depending on where I’m measured, but I’m usually around 5’5”, so pretty average!

5. How much do you weigh?
It’s not really something I feel is healthy to talk about. I’ve had a lot of problems with food and my weight, so am trying to come to terms with the fact that weight does not define who you are. All I will say is I’m a healthy weight for my height, and that’s all that matters.

6. Any tattoos?
None yet, but I’ve been considering one for ages. I did want to get ‘Believe’ across the inside of my wrist, but now I’m not sure I like that placing, or the word for that matter. I’d like to get something done, to remind me of how far I’ve come and to keep fighting, but haven’t been able to decide exactly what or where.

7. Any piercings?
Just one hole in each ear and I’m happy with that. I’m not averse to more piercings on other people, but I don’t think they’d really suit me.

8. You OTP? (One true pairing)
Jelly and ice cream! Does that count?! I love it even if it doesn’t!

9. Your favourite show?
Such a difficult question as it completely depends on my mood and what’s on! I’m a big fan of Friends and Big Bang Theory, but am also a little bit addicted to The Simpsons and Family Guy. And just recently I can’t stop watching old episodes of New Tricks!

10. Favourite Band?
Again, this is quite a difficult question, as I don’t just have one favourite. I love listening to The Beatles, as I remember my Dad playing them to me when I was little. Also Queen and Bon Jovi. More recent favourites include Girls Aloud (who are amazing live) and I like a lot of singers like Ellie Goulding, Pink and Michael Buble.

11. Something you miss?
There are quite a few things I miss, which have made me realise not to take anything for granted. I miss feeling healthy, although I struggle to remember what that felt like now after so long. I miss my Grandad and Grandpa, who sadly passed away. And I miss my friends – those who I thought were close friends who haven’t been there, but also those who are close friends who I just don’t get to see enough.

12. Favourite Song?
These questions aren’t easy! I love ‘Don’t Stop Me Know’ by Queen, ‘Will you still love me tomorrow’ by The Shirelles, ‘Nobody Does it Better’ by Carly Simon and ‘How long will I love you’ by Ellie Goulding.

13. How old are you?
25, although I still feel like I’m 15!

14. What zodiac sign are you?
I’m most definitely a Libra – completely indecisive, romantic and just.

15. Qualities you look for in a partner?
Loyalty, good sense of humour, open-minded, caring, fun, honest, romantic and loving

16. Favourite Quote?
I’m a massive lover of quotes, and I like different quotes for different situations. However, one of my all time favourites actually comes from Harry Potter and is spoken by Dumbledore – ‘Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.’ I’m in the process of redecorating my room, and am going to get a wall sticker with this quote to stick by my light switch, as it really inspires me.

17. Favourite Actor?
I’m a big fan of Johnny Depp, as I think he is such an adaptable actor and puts 100% into all his roles.

18. Favourite colour?
Pink, always pink!

19. Loud music or soft?
It depends how I’m feeling. If I need to relax, calm down or go to sleep I will put on some soft music. If I’m feeling angry or my mental health difficulties are particularly bad I will put my headphones in and turn it up as loud as possible, as I just don’t want to hear what’s in my head. But on a day-to-day basis I just like my music at an in-between level.

20. Where do you go when you're sad?
The first place I tend to go is up to my room, but it’s something I’m trying to get out of because being on my own when I’m sad isn’t that great for me. I’ll sometimes go to my parents for a hug, or if I’m well enough to go out for a little walk I like to do that.

21. How long does it take you to shower?
This varies depending on what I plan to do in the shower! If I just need to have a quick wash, it probably takes me about 10 minutes to shampoo and condition my hair. However if I’m treating myself to more of a pamper, I will either run a bubble bath, or will just spend more time in the shower using various hair and face masks.

22. How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
Again, this depends on what I’m getting ready for! If I’m going to work I usually allow myself just over an hour to get up, have breakfast, get dressed and do my make-up. But if I’m not going out and am staying at home, I don’t tend to bother with make-up, so need less time.

23. Ever been in a physical fight?
Not really – I’m not big on physical fighting as I think it’s so easy to lose control of yourself and do something you’ll later regret. Sure, I’ve had the odd tussle with my siblings when we were younger, but nothing serious. I personally don’t see the point in physical fights, as they don’t solve the problem. Yes, they may help you get your anger out, but there are healthier ways to do that.

24. Turn on?
Humour – I love a guy who can make me laugh

25. Turn off?
Spending longer in front of the mirror than me, narrow-mindedness and arrogance.

26. The reason you started blogging?
I’ve kept a diary since I was about 6 years old, and have always enjoyed writing about things in there. I was introduced to the world of blogging by a friend and spent a couple of years just reading other people’s blogs and thinking ‘I could do that!’ So, in October last year I just thought, why don’t I give it a go! And I haven’t looked back.

27. Fears?
Losing people I love and care about, growing up, not achieving my dreams and goals, spiders!

28. Last thing that made you cry?
This is going to sound rather embarrassing, as I rarely cry at TV or films. However, when watching Hollyoaks this week, I was left a blubbering mess when baby Katie died. The actress who plays Sinead acted her scenes fantastically.

29. Last time you said you loved someone?
I can’t remember an exact time, but I’m always telling my Mum and Dad that I love them. I’ve always believed it’s important to tell people that because I get scared that one day they won’t be around and I won’t have told them how I feel.

30. Meaning behind your blog name?
I was trying to think of a name that said something about my life, but that was also a bit quirky and unique. I have had a cat called Jaffa since I was 16, and I’m always being accused of rambling on, so Ramblings of a Jaffa Cat was born!

31. Last book you read?
‘The Time of My Life’ by Cecelia Ahern. Fantastic book.

32. The book you're currently reading?
‘Oh Dear Silvia’ by Dawn French. I’m over half way through it, but really struggling to get into it unfortunately.

33. Last show you watched?
This Morning. I’m a bit addicted at the moment!

34. Last person you talked to?
My Dad, who is working at home today.

35. The relationship between you and the last person you texted?
She’s one of my best friends and has supported me through some really difficult times over the last few years. Plus she has two gorgeous little girls, who always make me smile.

36. Favourite Food?
Hmm, difficult one! I really like natural yoghurt mixed with runny honey and have always loved my vegetables. However, I do also have a sweet tooth and love Jelly Babies (always the red, pink and black ones) and Magic Stars!

37. Place you want to visit?
So many places I want to see. I’d like to see more of the UK – Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Cornwall, Devon (again). I’d love to see more of America, particularly California, Florida (Disney especially) and possibly New York again, but in a different season. I’d also like to visit Australia and New Zealand, the Caribbean, some of the Greek Islands and more of Europe.

38. Last place you were?
Well, I’ve spent most of this week stuck at home not feeling well, but the last place I was at before I was here was the hospital. Isn’t my life exciting!?

39. Do you have a crush?
Not especially at the moment. There are celebrities I find attractive, but I wouldn’t say I have a crush on them.

40. Last time you kissed someone?
It was a couple of months ago now – that’s all the detail you’re getting!

41. Last time you were insulted?
It was fairly recently actually, when a few people have made comments about my physical and mental health, who obviously don’t have much understanding.

42. Favourite flavour of sweet?
I will always go for the red, pink and black ones! So anything strawberry, cherry, raspberry and blackcurrant.

43. What instruments do you play?
Unfortunately I don’t get many opportunities to play at the moment, but I can play the flute, piccolo, tin whistle and also had piano and singing lessons. I learnt the recorder as well and taught myself to play the ocarina.

44. Favourite piece of jewellery?
I love my Pandora bracelet, as every charm has a meaning behind it, which makes it very special. I also have another charm bracelet that my best friend bought me, which is very special. When I was in New York a few years ago I treated myself to a bracelet from Tiffany’s, which will always be a favourite piece. And finally, my Grandparents bought me a ring when I was in my teens, and it will always hold a special place in my heart.

45. Last sport you played?
I haven’t played sport for a long time! Although last year we had a holiday at Center Parcs and I had a little go at badminton, which was quite fun.

46. Last song that you sang?
‘Do you want to build a snowman?’ from Frozen. It’s seriously stuck in my head!

47. Favourite chat up line?
I hate chat up lines!

48. Have you ever used it?
I don’t use chat up lines, and am pretty sure I would be terrible at them if I did try!

49. Last time you hung out with anyone?
One of my best friends came to see me last Saturday, so it was probably then, unless you count my siblings, who are always around.

50. Who should answer this tag next?
Anyone who reads it! I love being nosey and hearing more about you all. Please let me know if you do decide to answer this tag.
