The last week seems to have been jam-packed with
university, medical appointments and bit of birthday-ness crammed in for good
measure. I can’t get my head around the fact I turned 29 this week – where is
time going?! I really don’t feel like I’m nearly 30. I feel like I’m maybe 16
at best! There’s so much I wanted to have achieved by this age but most of it
hasn’t happened – being in a stable relationship, getting married, thinking
about starting a family, living in my own house and having a good career. It’s
hard when poor health takes so much away from you, and I think it makes
birthdays more difficult to be honest. So it can feel quite strange trying to
celebrate something that only reminds you of what could have been. But I’ve
tried my best to enjoy it by spreading out the celebrations over a week or so,
instead of wearing myself out trying to do everything in one day.
I love the fact the leaves are changing colour.
Getting to jump (well, put my foot out of my wheelchair!) in crunchy leaves
really is the best feeling.
This little one is so cute. He falls asleep in the
strangest of positions! This was after dinner last Sunday when he snuck onto
Rosiie’s lap and squished his nose through her arm.
I’ve been wearing my new Disney jumper from Primark and it’s so cosy! I think I need to get the rest of the collection so I have
one for every day of the week!
Finally I had my first Starbucks Pumpkin
Spice Latte of the season (decaf with coconut milk for anyone that’s
interested!) – it was so yummy and I can’t wait to warm up with more over the
next month.
For my birthday on Wednesday, my parents and I went
back to West Green House Gardens for a proper look around. The walled garden is so pretty and full of roses,
dahlias and all sorts of other beautiful flowers. Going round it in my
wheelchair was lovely, as every time I brushed past something I could smell
something different.
I honestly thought that going to look at gardens at
this time of year would mean very few flowers, but I couldn’t have been more
wrong! I could have taken so many flower pictures (and I did on my actual
camera, so be prepared for a separate blog post!).
I’ve got very few photos of my Mum, Dad and I, so I
thought my little birthday trip out with them both was a good opportunity to
take one.
This is one of the prettiest places to just wander
around, especially at this time of year when there are so many beautiful colours.
And it was wheelchair accessible too, so win win all round! There were geese
and swans on the lake and leaves and conkers on the group – perfect.
I managed to get out of my wheelchair and stomp in the
leaves for a few steps. Shame I wasn’t wearing more aesthetically pleasing
shoes, but I wanted to document it nevertheless.
The last time I collected conkers I was probably about
seven or something! But I really wanted to find a few to use for autumnal photo
props and it took me right back to childhood. The excitement of looking in the
shells to see if they had been opened yet. And choosing the shiniest ones; the
ones that would be best for that game of conkers on the school playground.

continue doing!)
