In my life this week…
Disney jumper
I don’t often chat on here
about my new clothes, and I’m actually thinking of doing some more outfit
posts, especially as the weather starts to improve (because let’s face it, who
wants to stand outside in the rain taking photos of themselves?!) But I just
had to share my new Disney jumper with you! I remember last year, ASOS brought
out a Little Mermaid jumper and I was so upset that it sold out before I could
get myself one. A couple of weeks ago I was ordering something from ASOS and
thought I’d just have a little browse at their Disney products, and when this
jumper popped up I knew it had to go straight into my basket! It is so comfy
and I’ve already had some great compliments about it, with my sister saying she
wants to buy one for herself as well! I’m so glad I managed to get my hands on
it because I’m pretty certain this one will be a sell out as well.
Heart tests
I seem to have spent quite
a lot of this week down at the hospital for one reason or another. On Monday,
my Dad drove me over there as I was having some tests with the cardiology
department. Basically, for as long as I can remember, my heart rate has been up
in the 100’s, even when I’m resting. I get a lot of palpitations, get dizzy,
especially when I go from lying or sitting to standing and can get quite
breathless. I’ve been to the doctors many times about it and it’s always been
ignored, but once I had my EDS diagnosis I was finally referred to a
cardiologist, who thinks I may have something called POTS. So, on Monday, I had
an echocardiogram (ultrasound scan of my heart) and was then fitted with a 24-hour
ECG monitor. I’m still waiting to have something called a Tilt Table Test, but
I should get the results of the other two tests when I see my consultant in a
couple of weeks.
Valentine’s Day
So, yesterday was probably
one of my most hated days of the year – Valentine’s Day! Yes, I’m single, and
yes, I am a tiny bit bitter! But this Valentine’s Day wasn’t actually as bad as
I thought it would be. I had decided to do a couple of gift swaps with friends,
so I had a couple of lovely little gift boxes to open and actually have three
cards standing up on my mantle piece now! In the evening the majority of my
family were out doing romantic things, so it was just my sisters and I on our
own. They ordered some pizza, I made myself a nice salad and then we all just
snuggled on the sofa and had a movie marathon of Miss Congeniality, A
Cinderella Story and Austin Powers Gold member. Probably one of my favourite
Valentine’s Days ever.
What has grabbed your attention this
week? I love hearing about people’s new discoveries and you may end up sharing
something that makes it onto my list next week!
