Sunday Spotlight - 2nd November 2014

In my life this week…

Brunch

This week has been half term and boy did I need it! I was so happy waking up on Monday morning, seeing the time was 8am and going back to sleep again! On Tuesday I met up with my friend Lilli – we went into town and she pushed me round Primark, where we may have spent a little bit of money! Afterwards, we had a lovely brunch in Bill’s restaurant. It’s only recently opened and I’ve never been before. We just so happened to stumble across it when looking for somewhere that would cater for my rather complex dietary needs and I’m so glad we did. They were fantastic at adapting things for me and the food was so tasty. I had a soya chocolate milkshake and scrambled eggs on gluten free toast with streaky bacon. We’ve decided that we’ll definitely have to go back there again, possibly when I start eating more variety again, although at least we know how accommodating they are.

Essays

So, although it’s been half term this week, unfortunately I’ve had a lot of work to be getting on with. I tried to be really good and get it all done at the beginning of the week, and I didn’t do too badly. The first thing I did was make changes to my Psychology essay, ready to submit on Monday morning. I then did my Chemistry assignment, which thankfully didn’t take too long. Next up came my Sociology essay, which I’m really not happy with, but I’ve tried my best to answer the question and thankfully it is just a first draft. So the only thing I’ve still got to do is some revision for my Human Physiology exam on Tuesday. I have been doing some, but it’s the kind of thing you have to do a bit of each day unfortunately. I’m not feeling particularly confident about it if I’m honest, but I know I’ve put in a lot of work revising and I couldn’t have done any more.

Surprise visits

Yesterday I had a day off from revising and went to Dorking with my best friend’s parents, as we were surprising her at a concert she was playing at. It was very difficult lying to her when she asked what I was up to this weekend – I told her I’d be having a quiet weekend at home revising and tidying my room, and thankfully she believed me! The traffic to Dorking wasn’t too bad, so it didn’t take us too long to get there, and as we went to our seats in the concert hall, I gave my friend a wave and she seemed genuinely surprised to see me! We had a quick chat in the interval, but managed to catch up properly after, when we all went out for an early dinner. I don’t get to see her that often, so it was a lovely day and chance to have a gossip.

  1. Sounds like you had a good weekend! We went to a Halloween event at a local medical museum on Friday night, and helped a friend move house on Saturday. Can you believe it's November already? xx
